RaceRap.Com may remove posts by you if it believes that you may have violated the message board terms and conditions.
The information posted here is the responsibility of the person or persons posting the message.

MESSAGE BOARD RULES
It's time to restate some rules for the messageboard and institute a few changes. This message will be posted every day for several months. Remember, IF YOUR POST IS NOT FOR EVERYBODY, it doesn't belong on the messageboard! If it is an advertisement, it doesn't belong on the messageboard. It is that simple....
1) NO ADVERTISING IN ANY WAY ON THE MESSAGEBOARD. Unless a business has a banner ad, any mention of a business name will be deleted. We have Classifieds for which we do not charge, and that is the place for these ads. We spend a great deal of money on RaceRap, and personally, I'm tired of people using the site to make money off us. If you want to advertise your business on the messageboard, then buy a banner ad. NO EXCEPTIONS will be tolerated any longer. We are going create different types of banner ads that will make the cost affordable to ANY BUSINESS! There will be no excuses for not having a banner ad.
2) NO PERSONAL MESSAGES. Again, the messageboard is not your e-mail. We have tolerated this until now because we know it's sometimes important for people to get in touch with another for important messages. However, this has been abused. Unless your message is for EVERYONE to understand, it has no business on the messageboard. Put them in Announcements or the Miscellaneous section of the Classifieds. IF IT IS AN EMERGENCY AND A MESSAGE NEEDS TO BE POSTED, THEN E-MAIL BOB OR TAMMY. If we are not e-mailed, the message will not last long – it will be deleted. It is not fair that we have to archive GOOD messages because someone wants someone else's e-mail address. All of this costs money. We have spent thousands of dollars upgrading servers, memory and bandwidth, NOT TO MENTION HOW MUCH PERSONAL TIME WE PUT INTO THIS ON A DAILY BASIS, EVEN ON VACATION. Our next expense will be a T1 line which will cost almost a thousand dollars a month! This is not fair to RaceRap, or its other readers. One note, if you have a website and want to help us out, have us host it on our server. It will help you, and will also help cover our costs.
3) NO SLANDERING and NO RUMORS will be tolerated by unnamed sources. There is a big difference in writing, "I THINK Bob Barney is a cheater" and "I HEARD Bob Barney say he was cheating." One is an opinion, covered usually by FREE SPEECH, and the other is possibly slander and most likely a lie by a coward who will not sign his name. If you want to state a "fact" then you are to state your name. If you want to state an opinion, then you don't have to.
4) Once a driver, crew member, track official or management makes a post (using their names) we will not tolerate unnamed people bashing them. Again, if you leave your name and e-mail, then you can reply to their message and state your opinion. If you do not leave your name, it will be deleted. We want more drivers and track persons writing on RaceRap, and they need to feel as though they have some protection when doing so. This should not lead drivers or crew members to conclude that they can bash others freely just because they leave a name. If they do, they open themselves up to all kinds of problems. Common sense should rule.
REASONS FOR THESE RULES: RaceRap.com is not intended for people to hide behind anonymity, and legally all posters must be aware that their identities ARE KNOWN. Posters may be sued for slander, or when uncovered, find themselves in trouble with the law. We have had several cases so far. RaceRap is also not intended for businesses to shamelessly plug their company – not looking to help keep this site free by buying a banner ad, while we have others paying their way and buying them. No one would like this, if they were in our shoes. It's like someone asking you to borrow your house for the weekend, only to find that they rented it out as a hotel and charged others for it. That is exactly how I feel about this.
