Beautiful weather greeted fans and competitors Saturday evening to Southern National Motorsports Park.
The finest stars and cars of the area competed with Emily Day of Garner holding off Eric Courtney of Clayton to win an exciting Legends car feature that was a near photo finish.
Day celebrated in Solid Rock Carriers victory lane, thanking fans, friends, family and team after the thrilling victory. Young gun, Eric Courtney had his new hotrod running great to score the runner-up finish with Cam Murray bring his machine under the checkered flag in 3rd place.
Brad Blizzard from Wilson scored his 1st win in the Any Car feature holding off Tim Peaden from Greenville to win at the 4/10 of a mile high banked oval. Congrats to all for towing down and competing at the south's finest speed plant.
The touring series, Super Cup Stock Car Series made a trip into central North Carolina with Kevin Kromer from Walnutport, PA.
sweeping both 50 lap feature events after finding a sweet handling package during practice earlier in the afternoon. Kromer held off Ron Langdon, Bill Ashton , Mike Potter and Marc Jones in the first feature to visit Solid Rock Carriers victory lane. In the night cap, 50 lapper Kromer held off Langdon, Ashton, Potter with Lauren Butler rounding out the top 5 in race #2.
The Virginia Mini Cup Touring Series also made a stop in Lucama Saturday night with twin races on tap. In the opening feature, Tyler Warriner from Glen Allen, Va. held off Tyler Grady and Bubba Henley and in race #2, Tyler Roach held off Warriner and Shane Zupo.
