Daniels, Freeman Score Wins At Lake View's Tony Williams, III Memorial

LAKE VIEW, SC (October 20) – Case Daniels and Michael Freeman scored wins Saturday night at Lake View Motor Speedway as part of the inaugural Tony Williams, III Memorial. Williams, a two-time Pure Stock winner at Lake View this year, lost his life in an automobile accident recently and it was announced that this memorial event would become a permanent event at the speedway moving forward.
Daniels jumped to the lead from the pole position and led flag-to-flag to capture his second Pure Stock win of the season and take home the $1,001 winner's purse. Martin Sweatt finished second ahead of Buck Causey, Jeffrey Batten, and Chandler Fowler, who captured the $50 hard charger award. Brad Harrelson won the $50 tough luck award after two spins knocked him out of a top five finish.
Michael Freeman celebrated a birthday, a pole and his first career win in the $750 to win Super Street race. Rounding out the top five in the 22-car starting field were Benji Thompson, Cameron Norris, IV, Chris Powers, ad Michael Wells.
Dean Bowen jumped to the lead over pole sitter, Kerry Gibbons, and led the rest of the way for his second Late Model win this year. Chris Miller and Johnathan Ward collided on the first lap, with Ward sustaining heavy damage from the inside guardrail in turn 1. Following Bowen and Gibbons at the checkered flag were Colby Jenerette, Dustin Perritt, and Miller.
Richard Johnson blistered the field from the start to win his first Sharp Mini Late Model feature this year at Lake View Motor Speedway. Rounding out the top five were Rene Chamser, Johnny Pridgen, Clay Collins, and Sammy Carter.
Joey Wilkes took the lead after leader James Smith stumbled on the front stretch to score his first U-CAR win of the year. Derek Kemper finished second ahead of Smith, Richard "Rowdy" Seals, "Joker-Style" Kyle Jenks.
Bailey Miles took the lead after front row starters Chris Weatherford and Chris Gerald collided on the first lap to win his first race on dirt in the 4 Cylinder division. Weatherford finished second, with Jason Floyd, Gerald, and Tony Morris rounding out the top five.
The season finale at Lake View Motor Speedway will be on Saturday, November 17 featuring the VP Racing Fuels/Bobby Taylor Oil Co. Late Model Special, along with Open Wheel Modifieds, Super Street, Pure Stock, Bell & Bell Vintage Modifieds, Sharp Mini Late Models, UCARs, and 4-Cylinders.
