The finest stars and cars of the area roared into Southern National Motorsports Park Saturday night with Championship K&N Night and titles on the line.After 100 laps, numerous lead changes and great battles through out the event, Bradley McCaskill from Knightdale added his name to the Spooktacular list of winners. McCaskill had his Renfrow Heating &Air; machine in Solid Rock Carriers victory lane on the cool and crisp fall evening with 2018 Track Champion in the Limited Late Model division Andrew Grady from Knightdale in 2nd place when the checkered flag flew. Karl Budzevski ran a great race to come home 3rd with Louis White and Brandon Clements rounding out the top 5 positions. The Mini Stock feature winner Matt Whitehurst held off 2018 Track Champion James Stroud in his bad fast ride to grab the "W" with Lee Kozikowski, Joseph Pittman and Jesse "Danger" Jones finishing 3rd through 5th at the 4/10 mile speed plant. Michael O'Brien made a last lap pass on team mate Jonathan Kornegay to win the night cap and Obiedzenski ran 3rd to claim the track championship. Frankie Dominic and Fletcher Whaley rounded out the top five positions.
The Bandolero drivers ran twin events for their division as well with Jacob O'Neal from Raleigh visiting victory lane . O'Neal held off Peyton Lee, Josh Speas, Matthew Gurganus and Camryn Rice to score the popular victory. In the second event of the evening Josh Speas held off Camryn Rice, Jacob O'Neal, Matthew Gurgangus and Peyton Lee. Congrats to Matthew Gurganus, your 2018 track champion for the Bandolero division.
The popular Any Car Division continues to grow and Damon Stroud made the trip to victory lane Saturday night. Stroud held off Chris Hales, Mike Parrish, Alonzo Taylor and Brad Blizzard to score the win. The Flathead Ford Racers towed down and fans saw the #45 and #14 both visiting victory. The #45 Coach brought back memories of Mason's Garage, thank you Wayne Lawson. Southern National Motorsports Park roars back into action in 2 weeks with "Day Of Destruction" on October 27, 2018.
