Mike Darne from Concord captured both feature events for the Late Model Stock Car division on K&N Filters Championship night at Southern National Motorsports Park plus wrapped up the track championship in the process. The veteran wheelman waged a great season long battle with Terry Dease from Oxford for the title and it all came down to the last race of the regular season championship to crown a champ. Dease thanked fans, family and his hard working MDM racing team from victory lane. The opening race for the evening saw Dease turn back challenges from Adam Congrove from Hilton Head Island, SC. with Dease and Melvin Langley rounding out the top 4 positions. The 2nd LMSC feature of the evening found Darne making his 2nd visit of the evening in the Solid Rock Carriers/ JEDCO Landscaping victory lane celebration.
Darne held off Terry Dease after a great race long battle for p1 to wrap up his 1st SNMP LMSC Championship. Adam Cosgrove and Melvin Langley rounded out the top 4 positions.
Emily Day roared to victory over a stout field of Legend competitors to secure not only the victory but also pick up the Legends Championship. Day held off Ryan Matthews and Eric Courtney to make the trip to victory lane. Aaron Crumpler and Conner Jones rounded out your top 5 finishers.
Andrew Grady from Knightdale picked up twin victories in the Limited Late Model division, the first feature found Grady holding off Jessica Dana and her LPP crew lead hotrod with Chris Chapman, Bobby Morris and Gerald Benton rounding out the top 5 positions.
The nightcap feature win went to Grady who has had a great year at SNMP. Grady once more held off Dana for the victory with Chris Chapman, Wayne Goss and Brian Obiedzenski your top 5 when the checkered flag flew.
K&N Filters Championship night continues this coming Saturday night October 13 when more division champs will be crowed; Limited Late Model, Chargers, Mini-Stock, Bando's and Any Car champs will all be crowned during Spooktacular Weekend. Thank you all fans who bought Tee's and 50/50 tickets raffles for Bobby Watson and Carteret County Speedway, over $500. was raised as Bobby continues to recoupe.
