The finest stars and cars of the CARS Tour roared into Wake County Speedway Saturday night and fans were treated to a thrilling night of action. Sam Mayer from Wisconsin was victorious in a GWC shootout to record his 1st LMSC tour win in his Menards, Jr. Motorsports hotrod. Meyers thanked fans, Sponsors, crew and family from Capital City victory lane. Lee Pulliam from Alton, Va. crossed under the stripe in 2nd place with his KIKER Tree Service, Lee Pulliam Performance Chevy. Layne Riggs from Bahama had a strong run in 3rd place in his Puryear Tank Lines, Romeo Guest Ford with Raleigh's Deac McCaskill coming home in 4th place after a pole winning fast time of 13.17 around "America's Favorite Bullring". Josh Berry rounded out the top 5 in his Allthings Automotive Chevy.
The Vintage Southern Ground Pounders Touring Series always put on show and Garner wheelman Todd Langdon and his beautiful 442 Oldsmobile captured the Sportsman win with Dwight Sauls your Modified victor in the 25 lap feature event in his coach. The Flathead Ford Racing Association winners were Johnny Johnson in the modified division and Wayne Lawson grabbing the win in the sportsman division. Bomber winner Chad Williams from Angier won his 2nd race in a row in the extra distance event to round out the evening. A huge thank all the fans, drivers and car owners and Wake County Speedway staff.
