Racing journalist Bob Pockrass is reporting that beginning in 2018 A driver that must utilize a backup car as a result of a practice crash will be required to start at the rear of the field.
So help me understand NASCAR logic...if Speed Racer crashes his primary car in first round practice and has to go to a backup prior to qualifying he can no longer retain his STARTING spot....BUT if Speed Racer is flagged the winner of the race and then fails post race inspection with an infraction so bad that a L1 penalty is assessed he gets to keep his FINISHING position???
