Considering all he does for a living is work on his race cars, it shouldn't matter where he goes, he has more man hours in his car preparing for that race than most guys do in 2-3 weeks. I remember when he came to SNMP for the first time. He was a 5th place car. So you know what he did? Rented the track all day every Thursday until he finally won the July 4th race in 2012. That same race, the 08 broke a rear end piece and still finished 2nd. I am getting tired of all of this talk about the near 28 year old who works on his own personal race cars for a living. Especially considering his fans cry broke every year. Tell him to get a job and he won't be broke, maybe? It is the same junk every month on here, and has been for 3 years now.
Also, OBM, what did Anders have to prove at Martinsville? Given Anders had the least experience at the track of any of the heavy hitters you could muster a name for. Philip Morris has led over 700 laps their, which is still more laps than Anders has ran period. So how can that be a neutral track for these guys? Like I have mentioned before, the only TRUE neutral track was the Battle at the Beach in Daytona back when lmsc were invited a few years ago. In that race, Kyle Larson won, Ben Rhodes 2nd, CE Falk 3rd, and Anthony Anders 4th. I do believe Anders and Lee EACH had offset cars for that race. Lee ended up around 8th in a Jay Hedgecock piece purposely built for that race. But there has to be an excuse that I can't find for why they finished the way they did on that neutral track. The ONLY REASON Martinsville is the biggest race of the year, is the purse, not the track. If Wake County had a 26k to win race, it would have 77 cars attempt it too. The point is, it's not the hosting venue, but the purse it yields as to why so many drivers look forward to it.
