Nick Igdalsky to Drive for Andy Belmont Racing in ARCA RE/MAX Series Event at NJMP

Pocono, PA. --

A friendship that had its roots established when Nick Igdalsky was a youngster has flourished into an entry in the ARCA RE/MAX Series event on Sunday, Sept. 13, at New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, N.J. for the senior vice president of Pocono Raceway.

Igdalsky, who currently competes as a rookie in the Grand-Am Koni Challenge for JBS Motorsports, will motor the #83 ModSpace / American Red Cross Ford fielded by Andy Belmont Racing in the ARCA RE/MAX Series NJMP 150. The entry in the event will come less than one week after Igdalsky celebrates his 32nd birthday.

“It is an awesome opportunity for ABR to have Nick drive for us,” Belmont said. “It is kind of cool that we were neighbors while growing up and now we get to race together.

“His family has been very good to us,” Belmont continued. “This is an honor to work with him.”

Igdalsky is the grandson of Drs. Joseph and Rose Mattioli, the founders of Pocono Raceway.

“I am very excited to have the opportunity to compete in the ARCA RE/MAX Series,” Igdalsky said. “I have been a fan of guys like Tim Steele and Frank Kimmel, who I have watched dominate this series year after year.”

“If not for the help of ModSpace and Andy Belmont, this opportunity would not be possible,” Igdalsky continued.

While the Sept. 13 appearance will mark Igdalsky’s first in the ARCA RE/MAX Series, he is confident he can have a strong performance on the 14-turn, 2.25-mile road course at New Jersey Motorsports Park

“My goals would be to run smooth and consistently, while trying to limit rookie mistakes,” Igdalsky said. “With my experience in Grand Am and my familiarity with New Jersey Motorsports Park, I think we have a realistic shot at a top 10 finish.”

Prior to the current season of competing in the Grand-Am Koni Challenge, Igdalsky raced in the Bertil Roos Formula 2000 Series where, in two years, he amassed nine victories in only 20 starts to rank seventh in all-time series wins. In addition to winning nine times in the Bertil Roos F2000 Series, Igdalsky tallied a total of 14 top-three finishes in 20 starts.

Earlier in his racing career, Igdalsky collected 10 victories in just over two years, while competing in the Budweiser Pure Stock Division at historic South Boston (Va.) Speedway, a NASCAR-sanctioned facility.

Igdalsky will donate 100 percent of his winnings from the ARCA RE/MAX Series event at New Jersey Motorsports Park to the American Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter’s disaster relief efforts.

“My family has a long history of working with the American Red Cross SEPA Chapter and I could not have picked a more worthy organization to benefit,” Igdalsky explained.
