39th Annual Fall Classic and Round 4 of Victory Lap Late Model $25,000 Challenge this Saturday Sept. 20th

Virginia Motor Speedway returns back to action this Saturday night September 20th to host the 39th Annual Fall Classic presented by Waste Management. The night’s events will be the final point races for all five divisions with the 2008 Champions being crowned. All five divisions will be running extended lap features. The New Generation Racing Sprint Car event will feature a contingent of drivers from the CRSA 305 Sprint Car Series out of New York that will be in attendance to see if they can steal away the fall classic crown.

The evening of racing will also feature round 4 of the Victory Lap Late Model $25,000 Challenge presented by BB&T. Walker Arthur, Tom Cohick and Stevie Long, winners of the first three rounds of the series; each have a shot at a $5000 bonus should one of them win the 40 lap Late Model feature.

Competitor gates for Saturday, September 20th will open at 3pm with spectator gates opening at 4pm. On track activities will begin at 6:00pm with hot laps.

Divisions scheduled to race on Saturday September 20th: Victory Lap Late Models (40 Laps); Truckin Thunder Sportsman (30 Laps); Budweiser Modifieds (30 Laps); New Generation Racing Sprint Cars (25 Laps); and Limited Stock Car (25 Laps). All divisions will run Hot Lap Time Trials and Features.

Adult admission is just $16, Senior and Military $14, Students 13 –17 yrs old $7, Children 7 – 12 yrs old $4 and Children 6 and under free. The Speedway offers a Family Pack for two adults and two children 12 and under for only $32. Check the speedway’s website for discount coupons.

MUD BOGGING TIME: The 4th Annual Run A Muck Mud Bog and Mud Sling at “The Pit” is quickly approaching as it is scheduled to take place on Saturday October 4th. Last year over 5000 spectators packed “The Pit” to see the areas best tackle the very difficult 200 foot mud bog pit. Also on tap for will be the 1600 horse power mud dragsters and a monster truck freestyle show my Stone Crusher. Rules and registration forms are now available on the track’s website.

Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway, an ASA Member Track affiliate, is a ½ mile dirt oval track located on U.S. Route 17, eight miles north of Saluda, VA and 25 miles south of Tappahannock, VA in Jamaica, VA. The speedway is just a short drive from Richmond, Fredericksburg, Southern Maryland and the Hampton Roads area.
