Harraka Dominates At All American Speedway
Aug 13, 2008 - updated Aug 13th, 2008 11:25am
Web posted by Jason Christley

Charlotte, NC. --

Drive for Diversity’s Paul Harraka dominated at All American Speedway on Saturday night, winning the trophy dash and both segments of the Late Model Twin 50s. The 18-year-old Harraka has now won three consecutive races, bringing his season total to eight wins in the No. 16 Ruth’s Chris Steak House Toyota for Bill McAnally Racing.

“I was confident at the start of the season that the No. 16 BMR team was capable of winning races, but I never could have guessed that we’d be winning number seven and eight,” said Harraka. “None of this would be possible without all of the guys at Bill McAnally Racing and our supporters, Ruth’s Chris Steak House and the Drive for Diversity program.”

Harraka qualified third for the feature event, also qualifying him for the four-car, four-lap trophy dash. Harraka started out the night on a high-note, winning the trophy dash and proving that he had the car to beat in the main event.

The first 50-lap feature had Harraka starting third after a six car invert. After taking the lead on lap 13, Harraka went on to lead the remaining 37 laps. He and second-place car John Moore pulled away from the rest of the field, but Harraka was able to keep Moore behind him. Harraka took the checkered flag with a 0.869 second margin of victory.

Harraka lined up fifth for the second 50-lapper after an invert of the top five finishers from the first race. He used the first half of the race to work his way through the field and took the lead on lap 24. After taking the lead, Harraka showed his dominance and pulled away from the pack. He extended his lead to 2.174 seconds by the time he took the checkered flag.

Harraka, of Fair Lawn, N.J., will return to All American Speedway this Saturday, August 16, looking to win his fourth in a row.
