Capitol Boiler Works “Kids in Uniform” Night and RD 3 of the Victory Lap Late Model $25,000 Challenge this Saturday August 2nd

Jamaica, VA --

Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway returns back to action this Saturday August 2nd to host Capitol Boiler Works “Kid’s in Uniform” Night. All children wearing a baseball, softball, soccer, Boy Scout or Girl Scout uniform will be admitted free.

The night’s events will feature Round 3 of the Victory Lap Late Model $25,000 Challenge presented by BB&T.

The four race series offers a bonus program for multiple wins by a driver. The Victory Lap Late Model $25,000 Challenge pays a $5,000 bonus to anyone winning two of the four events; it goes to $15,000 if a driver can win three of four events; and finally, if a driver sweeps all four events that driver would pick up a cool $25,000 bonus.

The first two rounds of the series were won by different drivers which means there will be no $25,000 bonus paid out again this year. Current point leader Walker Arthur of Forest, VA picked up the win in round one with Tom Cohick of Gloucester, VA holding off Arthur for the round two win. Both drivers are eligible for the $15,000 bonus, but one of them must sweep the final two rounds of the series. Track rules for the Victory Lap Late Model Division will apply.

Also see the Truckin Thunder Sportsman, New Generation Racing Sprint Car and Limited Stock Car divisions in action. Come experience the raw, pure excitement that is dirt racing!

Competitor gates for Saturday, August 2nd will open at 3pm with spectator gates opening at 4pm. On track activities will begin at 6:30pm with hot laps. Divisions scheduled to race on Saturday August 2nd: Victory Lap Late Models (40 Laps); Truckin Thunder Sportsman (25 Laps); New Generation Racing Sprint Cars (25 Laps); and the Limited Stock Cars (20 Laps). All divisions will run Hot Lap Time Trials and Features.

Adult admission is just $12, Senior and Military $10, Students 13 –17 yrs old $7, Children 7 – 12 yrs old $4 and Children 6 and under free. The Speedway offers a Family Pack for two adults and two children 12 and under for only $24. Also check our website for discount coupons.

Put August 9th on your calendar as the Speedway will host the $10,000 to win, 29th Annual Miss Utility USA 100 presented by the US Army. This year there is yet another twist as the event will be co-sanctioned by the Mid-Atlantic Championship Series and the Carolina Clash. Two of the east coasts premier super late model series will go head to head in a true North versus South battle for bragging rights and the top prize. There will be at least two $1000 to win, 25 lap qualifying races to get into the $10,000 to win USA 100 50 lap finale.
