Go Ahead and Give Rich Gould the Trophy
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:5/28/08
While it may be the third race on the 2008 Nascar Camping World east series schedule it is a totally fresh start for Rich Gould and his #58 Rich Gould Properties/Crewschool.com race team. A highly anticipated Greenville-Pickens race turned to utter disappoint after the team failed to qualify for the event leaving the feeling of both shock and disappointment throughout the team. The fresh start began with a few changes to the car, followed by testing, and new website design to enhance the professional image of the team for sponsors.
“Greenville was the first time in my whole driving career that I never qualified for a race, and that’s even going back to my street stock days at Wall Stadium. So to say it was a huge disappointment is an understanding but in reality us not making that race has made this team better. It’s like that saying sometimes a step back is really a step forward. We made the decision to go through the entire car front to back and then followed up with an aggressive testing plan to prepare for South Boston and the rest of the year,” said Gould.
The testing plan Rich was referring to was full day of testing spent at the southern Virginia track followed by a “shakedown session” scheduled Thursday at the Caraway Speedway just prior to the Strutmasters.com 150. After the teams first test alone the team found many wholesale changes that could be made in order to gain speed come race day.
“We are looking to start from the beginning once again. There should be no reason why we don’t have one of the fastest cars come qualifying. We have a new group of students from the Crew School through our partnership with them which has worked out great for both parties involved and the folks from Tex Motorsports Marketing have designed us a great looking website, so things seem to be looking pretty good heading into this weekend,” stated the New Jersey native Gould.
The chance for Rich Gould to get back to action will happen this weekend May 31, 2008 at the South Boston Speedway for the Nascar Camping World Strutmasters.com 150. Qualifying for the event will take place at 4:45pm followed by the drop of the green flag at 7:30pm.
