Randy Akers will be gunning for his third straight checkered flag in this weekend's Super Street 50-lapper. To bag that prize, though, he'll have to overcome a less-than-ideal starting position. By track rules, a winner of two consecutive races may start the next event from no better than the outside of Row 4.
Three races into the season, Akers ranks third in the current Super Street standings. With 134 points, he trails co-leaders Randy Sample and Jessica Wood by four.
In addition to his two victories, Akers' record also shows a ninth-place outing in the season opener - the result of a spin off the final corner, while challenging Sample for the lead.
