(April 23) - A 100-lap Late Model Stock Car feature tops the bill this Saturday, April 26, as Langley Speedway plays host to Bud Light Night at the Races - event #3 on the track's 2008 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series calendar.
This week's lineup includes: Crossroads Fuel Service Late Model Stock Cars (100 laps); B&C Seafood Modifieds (50 laps); Bass Pro Shops Super Streets (50 laps); Peninsula Hardwood Mulch INEX Legends (25 laps); and, Wolf Contractors Wolf Trucks (25 laps).
Gates open at 1 p.m. and afternoon practice runs from 2 'til 4. Following a 4:15 drivers meeting, time trials get under way at 4:30. Pre-race festivities, including a parade lap from Hampton Roads Harley-Davidson, begin at 6:50 and the evening's first feature contest goes green at 7.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children, 6-12. "Little Race Fans" (under 6) are admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Military members in uniform are also admitted free. Military members in civvies (active-duty or retired, with ID) and senior citizens (60+, with ID) receive a $2 discount off the regular adult ticket price. "Family Packs," which include two adult and two children's tickets, are $25 - a savings of $5.

The Speedway will hold its regular, weekly "test and tune" session on Thursday, April 24. Gates open at 5 p.m. and practice begins at 6.
Pit admission is $10 with a valid NASCAR, INEX, HRKC or Langley Speedway license and $20 without a current competition license. There is no charge to watch from the grandstands.

Two races into the '08 Late Model Stock Car campaign, Greg Edwards has moved atop the series standings. With 96 points, he holds an 8-point edge over Shawn Balluzzo and Dean Shiflett, who are tied with 88 apiece. Jeff Shiflett (82) and Terry Carroll (80) round out the current top five. Craig Eastep (72) is sixth, followed by Danny Edwards Jr. (68) and opening night winner Nick Smith (66). Mark Wertz, Matt Waltz and Ross Clements are tied for ninth with 60 points each.

Greg Edwards' victory in last Saturday's LMSC feature gave "Blue Oval" fans a lift. It was the first win for a Ford in Langley's top division since Phil Warren accomplished the feat in 2001.

Langley Speedway's drivers and teams will get a day off on Saturday, May 3, as the track will be closed in deference to NASCAR Sprint Cup Series activities up I-64 at Richmond International Raceway. Also, there will be no open practice session on Thursday, May 1.

Following the break, the Speedway swings back into action on Saturday, May 10, with Med Express Night. That evening's lineup is highlighted by a 40-lap/$1,000-to-win feature for the INEX Legends division. The winner's payoff is almost four times greater than for a regular 25-lapper.
The Modifieds, Super 8 Motels/B&B Engines Grand Stocks, Med Express Super Trucks, E-Z Auto of Newport News UCARs and Standard Welding Pro 6s round out the six-race slate.
