Sprint Night set for this Saturday night

NASCAR Whelen All-American Series at Langley Speedway -
Five feature events are planned for this Saturday, April 19, as Langley Speedway continues its 2008 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series schedule with Sprint Night at the Races.
The lineup includes: Crossroads Fuel Service Late Model Stock Cars (100 laps); Super 8 Motels/B&B Engines Grand Stocks (40 laps); Med Express Urgent Care Super Trucks (25 laps); E-Z Auto of Newport News UCARs (25 laps); and, Rhonnda Claiborne, Realtor HRKC Pro Winged Champ Karts (20 laps).
Gates open at 1 p.m. Afternoon practice rounds begin at 2 and wrap up at 4. The drivers meeting is scheduled for 4:15, followed by time trials at 4:30. Pre-race ceremonies begin at 6:55 and the Champ Karts lead off the evening's racing program at 7.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children, 6-12. "Little Race Fans" (under 6) are admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Military members in uniform are also admitted free. Military members in civvies (active-duty or retired, with ID) and senior citizens (60+, with ID) receive a $2 discount off the regular adult ticket price. "Family Packs," which include two adult and two children's tickets, are $25 - a savings of $5.

Fans attending this Saturday's event at Langley can take in the "Sprint Racing Experience," a 10,000-square-foot, interactive exhibit featuring four state-of-the-art, full-motion simulators. The display will be open from 4:30-9:30 p.m.

The Speedway will hold its regular, weekly "test and tune" session on Thursday, April 17. Gates open at 5 p.m. and practice begins at 6.
Pit admission is $10 with a valid NASCAR, INEX, HRKC or Langley Speedway license and $20 without a current competition license. There is no charge to watch from the grandstands.

NASCAR racing action rolls on at Langley Speedway on Saturday, April 26, when the track hosts Bud Light Night. That evening's slate includes: Late Model Stock Cars, B&C Seafood Modifieds, Bass Pro Shops Super Streets, Peninsula Hardwood Mulch INEX Legends and Wolf Contractors Wolf Trucks.
The Speedway will be closed on Saturday, May 3, in deference to NASCAR Sprint Cup activities at Richmond International Raceway.

A new season of "Wild Wacky Wednesdays" kicks off at Langley Speedway on May 21. The popular mid-week event features street cars in 1-on-1 drag races, "Time Attacks" (solo runs against the clock) and burnout contests.

A longtime member of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series, Langley Speedway is a .395-mile, slightly-banked oval. The track is located at 11 Dale Lemonds Dr., off North Armistead Ave., in Hampton, Va.
