Press Release: Date: 11/15/07
Phillip Walker, veteran promoter and auctioneer reports that his upcoming auction on Dec 1, 2007 will feature several former Hooter’s ProCup Steel bodied stock cars that competed from 2001-2006 and are legal for a new racing series in 2008. The SuperCup Stock Car Series will compete throughout the Eastern US, with races planned in South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, and Ohio. These races will feature 100 laps of racing. Competitors should expect a tentative 10 race schedule to be released by December 4th at the annual Performance Racing Industry Trade Show (PRI) in Orlando.
This new series is in no way affiliated with Hooter’s ProCup or the United Speed Alliance Racing Series (USAR). SCSCS was formed by several individuals interested in providing racers with an affordable alternative to race cars that are no longer legal to compete in USAR or Busch.
Walker states that this series is going to breathe new life into racers and race teams that can not afford to build new cars or purchase new bodies and modify old cars for the Pro-Cup Series. Walker’s Auction will feature race cars, truck, trailer, and parts from Chad Beahr’s former Pro-Cup team, from Mechanicsville, VA. Additionally, the race shop and land of WRMotorsports will be auctioned as well. The auction will be held starting at 9am on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at the WRM Race Shop, 15080 NC 86, Prospect Hill, NC (Between Danville, VA and Hillsborough, NC)
Walker said the SCSCS will be managed by a five member Auxiliary board. The board consists of Joe Schmaling, Michael Kurkowski, Lonnie Rush Sr., Mart Nesbitt, and Joe Harrison Sr. The board has appointed Joe Schmaling as Director of Competition. He can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org for additional questions and information about the series.
