Jay Payne Wins at CMP for the Sixth Time in 2007

Thomasville, NC. --

For Immediate Release: October 1, 2007

Jay Payne Racing returned to Concord Motorsport Park on Saturday September 29, 2007 and captured their sixth win of the 2007 season. After several tough races that included an ill handling race car and parts failures the JPR team managed to get back on track Saturday. The day started with two good practice sessions that would set the stage for the rest of the day. As the day continued things continued to look promising as Jay posted a strong qualifying time that put him third on the grid. The day got better from there when Jay drew the pole position after qualifying. The race started with Jay on the pole and Brian Conforth on the outside. They took the green flag and Conforth took the lead on the first lap but that is all he would lead.

Jay took the lead on lap two and never looked back leading the remainder of the forty lap feature and winning his sixth race in twelve starts at CMP this season. "This one is really sweet. We had a few tough races but we never gave up. We worked really hard on the race car the last two weeks. We went back to some old notes and we found our way back to victory lane." With that win Payne leads the division in wins with six and has the best average finish this season. Jay Payne and the JPR team will be back in action for the final race of the 2007 season at CMP on Saturday night October 6, 2007. Please make plans to come to the race and visit us in the pits following the race.
