Race Season Success Continues For John Stancill

Mooresville, NC --

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE-5/28/07

For a championship caliber race team like John Stancill’s #20 Semi-Pro Legends car, a week without a victory is a disappointing weekend. While other teams celebrate a top-10 or a top-5, the NPR team piloted by John Stancill expects to win every time they take the green flag. It is that kind of championship mentality that has allowed John Stancill to score 13 wins in 32 main event starts. (and that’s not counting dozens of heat and b-main wins!) In those 32 starts, he has racked up 27 top 5’s in competition at over 10 tracks in 6 different states.

Going into the second week of competition in the Summer Shootout at the Lowe’s Motor Speedway, Stancill held the fifth place in the point’s standings. The week before, he had waged a hard battle, coming from 21st starting position in the A-main feature to finish fifth. Had the race not been shortened due to time restraints, Stancill would have been fighting for the win.

Unfortunately, he was forced to race the B-main event for the second week in a row. After the green flag was dropped, John powered his way to the front, winning the B-main and earning the 21st starting position in the A-main. Once again, John picked off the competition one-by-one, finishing the event in the seventh spot and raising him to second in the Summer Shootout Points. Had track officials not elected to due a single file restart on a late race caution, Stancill would have easily clenched a top-5.

Going into the race weekend, John Stancill was hungry for a visit to his home away from home, Victory Lane. At this point it had been two weeks since the 14 year old racing prodigy had led the pack to the checkered flag.

The NPR team headed to Caraway Speedway with winning expectations on Friday. Stancill stated “We started outside pole and we fell back to fourth after the start. I just picked everybody off up until second place behind Jordan (Anderson). With about five to go, we were able to get around Jordan to take the win.”

NPR teammate and rival, Jordan Anderson is competing for the championship in the Pro division of Legends cars. So, when the two competitive rivals get the rare opportunity to challenge each other for the win, it is a real treat for the fans.

On Saturday, the team returned to the Lanier Speedway in Braselton, GA. John started fourth, and fell back into third after the race began. He picked off second place driver during the mid-point of the race and came home in the second position, behind fellow rival Ty Dillon.

Stancill is expected to make major sponsorship announcements within the next week, so stay tuned to further press releases. It is expected that the new sponsor will be in place by the Summer Shootout events this Tuesday.
