Heading into this Friday night’s events the chase for this season’s championships get cranked up again with Walker Arthur of Forest, VA holding the largest lead of any of the divisions. Arthur heads into the weekend with a 19 point advantage over the ‘Faster Pastor’ Tom Cohick of Gloucester, VA in the chase for the Victory Lap Late Model crown. Arthur has been busy this year competing in three divisions, late model, sportsman and super late model and the time on the track is playing a major role in his consistent performances this year.

Tim Shelton of Fredericksburg, VA leads Roger Jamerson of Glen Allen, VA by one point and Davis Lipscombe of Mechanicsville, VA by two points heading into this weekend’s action. The three drivers have put on a show the last two races.

The division has seen car counts as high as 32 cars over the first three events of the 2007 season and looks to be getting larger.

Even though he has dominated the New Generation Racing Sprint Car division’s first two races Phillipsburg, PA’s Craig Folmar only holds a 13 point advantage over Mary Anne Williams of Chester, VA. Folmar with is back to back wins can start no closer than eighth.

In the All American division Kevin Fletcher of Saluda, VA picked up his career first victory and in the process also took over the top spot in points. Fletcher leads defending champion Marty Coltrain of Richmond, VA by a mire three points heading into this weekend’s action.
