Asheboro, NC --

April 28, 2007

Two-time Track Champion Jason York of Reidsville, known to his fans as “The Reidsville Rocket”, blasted into victory lane in the 75 lap NASCAR Late Model Stock feature at Caraway Speedway. Sanford’s Brad Brinkley captured the $100 Budweiser Pole Award and would start on the pole along side of Concord’s Kris Bowen. Bowen would have a battery problem and pit under the pace laps, moving York up alongside of Brinkley. On the start Brinkley took the lead, with York right on his bumper. After several laps of battling for the lead York would relieve Brinkley of the top spot on lap 49 of the 75 lap event.
On lap 74 Stephen Grimes of Siler City, Justin Labonte of Trinity, Brent Raymer of Concord and Peter Hernandez of Blue Island, Ill, were all battling for the fifth spot when chaos broke out. Labonte ended up on top of Grimes in the turn three wall, while Hernandez spun and Raymer brings home a solid fourth place finish. York makes his victory lap, while the safety crews separate the mangled cars of Grimes and Labonte. Brinkley, Dan Moore of Bear Creek, Pete Stewart of Archdale, Randy Benson of Rockingham, Brianne Cronrath of Concord, Hernandez, Grimes and Labonte round out the top ten finishers.
