NASCAR Whelen All-American Series at Langley Speedway

Preparations for Langley Speedway’s 2007 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series season opener shift into high gear this Saturday, March 17, when the track hosts the first of three open “test and tune” sessions.
This week’s practice rounds will run from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Before venturing onto the Speedway, all cars must clear technical and safety inspections.
Pit entry is $20 with the appropriate competition license (NASCAR, INEX, HRKC or Langley Speedway) and $30 without a license. Licenses may be purchased during the session. There is no charge to watch practice from the grandstand.
Additional open practices are scheduled for Saturday, March 24, and Saturday, March 31 (Media Day), in advance of Opening Night ‘07 on Saturday, April 7. Those practice sessions will also run from 10 ‘til 4.

Langley Speedway is pleased to announce the return of several of its division sponsors and to welcome a few new supporters to the fold for 2007.
Crossroads Fuel Service will be back for its second campaign with the track’s headlining Late Model division. Also, for the second straight season, Super 8 Motels and Dunkum’s Machine Shop will team up to present the Grand Stocks. E-Z Auto Rental will continue its affiliation with the popular UCAR class, while B&C Seafood returns as the title backer of the Modified division.
Among the newcomers, Med Express will be the title sponsor for the Super Street class, Peninsula Hardwood Mulch has signed on to support the INEX Legends and Wolf Contracting will sponsor, appropriately enough, the Wolf Trucks. Kim Jusino, Realtor will serve as the title sponsor for HRKC Pro Winged Champ Kart events.
Discussions regarding sponsorship for the Super Truck division are ongoing and an announcement is expected soon.
While the roster of class sponsors for ‘07 is nearly complete, many exciting sponsorship opportunities are still available at the track — billboards, banner and display spaces, race nights, program ads, etc. To learn more, contact Michael Hill at (757) 865-RACE.

Toyota is making a big splash this year with its move into NASCAR’s NEXTEL Cup Series and that involvement extends to the local level. The Hampton Roads Toyota Dealers Association will furnish Langley Speedway’s pace car and safety truck for the new season.
Also for ‘07, Speedway management will stay in contact with one another via phones from NEXTEL/Sprint, which has signed on the track’s official wireless communications provider.

Before April 7 sneaks up on you, be sure to secure your 2007 Langley Speedway Season Pass. Passes are good for grandstand admission to all regularly-scheduled Saturday night racing events, plus the post-season Virginia State UCAR Championships/”King of Champs” kart event on Oct. 13 and “The Night of Destruction” on Oct. 20. Passes are available for $200 — a savings of over $50 off the price of individually-purchased tickets. Trackside RV parking spots are available for $650.

For ‘07, disabled race fans will enjoy a new handicapped area, presented by The Van House, outside the fourth turn.

Langley Speedway’s 2007 season opener, Toyota Night at the Races, is scheduled for Saturday, April 7. That evening’s feature lineup includes: Late Models, Grand Stocks, Super Trucks, Legends, UCARS and HRKC karts.

A longtime member of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series, Langley Speedway is a .395-mile, slightly-banked oval. The track is located at 11 Dale Lemonds Dr., off North Armistead Ave., in Hampton, Va.

To learn more about Langley Speedway and its upcoming 2007 season, fans may call the Speedway office at (757) 865-RACE or consult the track’s Web site — www.langley-speedway.com.
