Younger Brother Looks to Provide Awareness to Foundation at Grass Roots Level
Jarit Johnson Racing announced today that the Jimmie Johnson Foundation (JJF) will be featured on the No. 44x Chevrolet in the 2007 Limited Late Model Class at Hickory Motor Speedway. Johnson is scheduled to compete in a full season at Hickory Motor Speedway and make a run at the Limited Late Model Class championship.
“I’m really excited about supporting Jimmie and Chandra and the foundation,” said Jarit Johnson. “We hope to get their foundation some good exposure at the grass-roots racing level.”
“We are in the process of changing over the race car for 2007 and we donated the 2006 fenders and doors for the foundation’s eBay auction,” explained Johnson. “Hopefully the fenders and the exposure at Hickory will raise some money to help support the great causes Jimmie and Chandra have targeted.”
The auction can be viewed online at JimmieJohnsonFoundation.org
The Jimmie Johnson Foundation is dedicated to assisting children, families and communities in need throughout the United States. The foundation strives to help everyone, particularly children, pursue their dreams.
“Chandra and I have been very blessed. We get to do what we enjoy in life, and that is something we don't take for granted,” said Jimmie Johnson. “We have incredibly supportive friends and family and the best fans in our sport. Jarit also has a great fan base at Hickory along with a strong history at that track. This partnership is an effort to help raise awareness by reaching all racing fans.”
