Newton, NC. --
The JCR #72 Team headed up to the famous Martinsville Speedway in Martinsville, VA. to get some practice for the "Bailey's 300". The Baileys 300 is one of the biggest late model races on the EAST coast. It attracts many famous drivers including drivers from the Top 3 Nascar Leagues. There was over 100 Late models that showed up for this practice event.
The team arrived at the track late Tuesday night, and parked the rig and trailer. The next morning they was all up by 4:30 AM. They was there at the track and in line at 5:30 waiting to sign in and to start practicing. They tried all kinds of set ups on the car and each one they tried was helping the car get a lot better. And by the end of the day Jason Cochran managed to be in the TOP 50 of fastest times. "It was really awesome to be on the same track as the Nextel Cup boys race on. But I found out one thing, you do not want to get off the concrete in the corners, its not too good if that happens." quoted Jason.
The JCR team is disappointed though, after they managed to be in theTop 50 fastest, they wont be returning for the actual Baileys 300 due to funding. "Its disappointing knowing we would make the field and do really good, but we just cant do it by ourselves we need some financial backing to be able to go back up and race. But we want to wish all our competitors that's going back up there to race good luck, and be safe. We will be at the UARA STARS race at Tri County on the 7th of October." Gerald Harris PR Represenative stated.
We would like to take this time now and thank all our sponsors who helped make it possible to race each and every weekend: Cochran Realty, Signs By Design, Valvoline Oil, Pro Drive Software, and RaceRap.com. Until next time take care and God Bless.
