South Boston Speedway will crown its division champions Saturday night when the track hosts the Miss Utility 150 NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series race program.
The most intriguing points chase of the night will be in the Barkhouser Late Model Stock Car Division. The top four drivers in the chase for the division championship are separated by only 22 points heading into the final event.
Eight-time winner Drew Herring leads the way by a mere eight points over second-place Owen Miller. Eddie Johnson is third in the standings, just 10 points behind Miller and only 18 points out of the lead. Jonathan Cash sits four in the standings. He is four points behind Johnson and 22 points behind Miller.
All four will hit the four-tenths mile asphalt oval to compete against the top Late Model Stock Car Division drivers in the region in the 150-lap Barkhouser race.
Also slated for action Saturday night at America's Hometown Track will be the Strutmasters.com Limited Sportsman Division drivers, the competitors in the Budweiser Pure Stock Division and events for the touring INEX Legends Series and the Legendary Flatheads.
Bruce Anderson has locked up the Limited Sportsman Division championship, while second-place Tommy Peregoy, who is 58 points out of first place, is 22 points ahead of third-place Danny Willis, Jr.
In the Pure Stock Division, Chuck Watkins has locked up the division crown, however, second-place Quain Moore is only two points ahead of third-place Lee Anderson in the battle for the runner-up position in the standings.
Jeremy Cook leads the standings for the INEX Legends Series, while Cameron Patrick is second, 26 points out of the top spot.
