Trinity’s Justin Labonte Wins 100 Lap NASCAR Late Model Stock Event At Caraway Speedway

Caraway Speedway’s 100 Lap NASCAR Late Model Stock feature started out with Robert Tyler of High Point receiving the Bud Pole $100 Bonus. After a mandatory redraw of the top six quailifies, Tommy Lemons Jr of Troy and Rusty Harpe of Lexington started on the front row. On the start Harpe took the lead but would only hang on for 27 laps relinquishing the lead to Trinity’s Justin Labonte. He would continue leading the caution plagued event capturing his second win of the season. Randy Benson of Rockingham, Harpe, Brad Brinkley of Sanford, Jake Yarbrough of Ocean Isle Beach, Lemons Jr, Travis Swaim of High Point, Pete Stewart of Sophia, Dan Moore of Bear Creek and Jeremy Moore of Asheboro rounded out the top ten finishers.
Nick Freeman of Trinity captured the win and the Track Championship title in the final Pure Stock event. John Bradley of Climax, Rusty Ruddock of High Point, David Shough of Randleman and Jamie Ruddock of High Point rounded out the top five finishers. The Pure Stock division will be replaced with the new Sportsman Division for the 2007 season.

In the 15 Lap Mini Stock event Nathan Bess of Lexington took home the win. Mike Lowery of Walkertown, Dusty Boyd of Goldston and Tony Black of Winston Salem rounded out the top five finishers.

In the 15 Lap Super Mini Truck event Glenn Chriscoe Jr of Asheboro captured his second win of the season. Scottie York of Asheboro, Billy Deweese of Thomasville, Alex Whatley of Thomasville and Eric Williams of Troy rounded out the top five finishers.

In the first 10 lap U-Car event Justin Hamilton of Denton captured his first career win. Jimmy Woods of Asheboro, Foster Williams of Troy, Jason Beck of Durham and Keith Owens of Lexington rounded out the top five finishers.

In the second 10 Lap U-Car event James Jones of Trinity captured his second win of the season. Eddie Phillips of Lexington, Greg Cook of Denton, Steven Phillips of Lexington and Gary Dillard of Thomasville rounded out the top five finishers.

Coming up next Friday Night will be the Final Fun Friday event of the season featuring Twin 35 Lap Late Model Super Trucks, 50 Lap Street Stock, Legends and U-Cars. On Saturday Night the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour returns for 150 Laps of open-wheeled action. Also on hand will be a 100 Lap Late Model Stock event, 30 Lap NC State Championship Six Cylinders, Mini Stocks, Cab Cars and Lady U-Cars. Grandstands open at 6pm and the racing action gets underway at 8pm. Directions: Take US 220 Bypass to the Spero Road Exit and Follow the signs.
