Charlotte, N.C. --

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:(Aug. 14, 2006)

Jesus Hernandez captured his second victory of the season at Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway on Saturday night. The win was the tenth for the Drive for Diversity program on the season. Hernandez started on the outside pole before taking his Waste Management Chevrolet to victory lane for MB2 Motorsports.

“It is exciting to be a part of a team that is competitive week in and week out,” Hernandez said. “We have been able to win this year because of the excellent team that has been assembled, as well as the support of our great sponsor. I am very excited to have had the opportunity to provide Waste Management with two wins in 2006 and I plan for more victories soon.”

Hernandez, a 25-year-old from Fresno, Calif. padded his already impressive 2006 season. He now has three poles, two wins, six top fives and 12 top-10 finishes this season. There are four races remaining at Hickory this season.

"We are all very proud and excited for Jesus and the Waste Management team’s win this weekend in Hickory," said Jay Frye, General Manager and CEO for MB2 Motorsports. "NASCAR's Drive for Diversity program is an important part of MB2 Motorsports and we hope to continue to help Jesus boost his career while supporting such an important initiative in NASCAR."

“The amount that I have been able to learn this year is phenomenal,” Hernandez said.

Several other Drive for Diversity drivers had success this weekend, including:

Chris Bristol: Bristol returned to action in fine form with a 15th place finish in Late Model action at Hickory Motor Speedway. His next race is scheduled for August 19.

Marc Davis: Davis captured his fifth pole of the season, piloting the Levi Strauss Signature Monte Carlo to a second-place finish in Limited Late Model action Saturday at Hickory Motor Speedway. He returns to action on August 19.

Pete Hernandez: Hernandez was in action at Stockton 99 Speedway where he collected his 11th top-ten finish of the season in his 17th start. He returns to action on August 19.

Allison Duncan, Jessica Helberg, Brianne Cronrath and Mike Gallegos were all idle on Saturday but will all race on August 19.

Drive for Diversity also has crew members on teams in the NASCAR Busch Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. In NCTS action from Nashville Speedway, Calvin Gravely, assisted the No. 77 Orleans Racing entry to a fifth place finish. Nicole Addison and Corey Hunter jumped the wall for the No. 22 PPC Racing entry of Kenny Wallace which finished 31st in NBS action from Watkins Glen.
