Charlotte, N.C. --

(July 31, 2006)

Rookie Teenager Earns Sixth Checkered Flag of Season for the Levi Strauss Signature® Brand

Drive for Diversity® program rookie driver Marc Davis won for the third consecutive week and the sixth time this season in the Limited Late Model division at Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway Saturday night.

“My entire team gave me a great car,” said Davis. “I’m living my dreams and looking forward to the next few weeks. We’ve got a lot of racing to do and our goal is to win the track championship.”

The 16-year-old from Mitchellville, Md., stands third in the championship point standings and returns to Hickory’s .363-mile oval on Aug. 12. There, he’ll seek his seventh career win and his fourth straight.

“Marc is really focused on winning the championship,” said J.D. Gibbs, president of Joe Gibbs Racing. “He might be young, but he knows exactly what he wants. You can see it when he’s driving the car and when he’s working on the car. He’s extremely focused, and it’s serving him well.”

Drive for Diversity® is an ethnic and gender minority driver and crew member development program that supports eight drivers in the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series and 12 crew members in the NASCAR Busch Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series during the 2006 season.

“The Levi Strauss Signature brand congratulates Marc on winning his third consecutive race this season,” said Scott LaPorta, President, the Levi Strauss Signature brand. “This is an incredible accomplishment, we wish him continued success, and look forward to watching him progress throughout the rest of the season.”

“Marc continues to raise the bar and we’re thrilled by his consistent results,” said Bryan Kryder, program director of the Drive for Diversity® program.

About The Levi Strauss Signature® Brand

With a rich heritage of quality casual clothing, Levi Strauss & Co. developed the Levi Strauss Signature® brand. The Levi Strauss Signature® brand is distributed in more than 10 countries worldwide and gives value-conscious consumers access to high-quality and fashionable clothing from a company and name they trust. The line includes a complete collection of clothing and accessories for all members of the family and is available at mass merchants nationwide.

Since 2004, the Levi Strauss Signature® brand has been an official partner of the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, Inc. (NASCAR) and the exclusive apparel sponsor for NASCAR NEXTEL Cup driver Jimmie Johnson. In 2005, the Levi Strauss Signature® brand announced a partnership with the All-American Soap Box Derby (AASBD) to serve as title sponsor of the premiere youth oriented racing league. Johnson is also the national spokesperson for the program.

Joe Gibbs Racing

Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) is one of the premier organizations in NASCAR, currently fielding three NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series teams, three NASCAR Busch Series teams and a Limited Late Model team.

Its driver lineup consists of Tony Stewart, Denny Hamlin and J.J. Yeley in Nextel Cup, Hamlin and Yeley in Busch, and Marc Davis in the Limited Late Model division. Development drivers also under contract to JGR are Aric Almirola in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, along with Woody Howard and Joey Logano, both of whom compete in the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series.

In partnership with the late Reggie White, a Hall of Fame defensive end who played in the National Football League, JGR formed the Limited Late Model team as part of its diversity program. It is a grassroots stock car team that identifies and assists minorities with the desire and talent to make a career in motorsports.

Based in Huntersville, N.C., and owned by Joe Gibbs – a three-time Super Bowl-winning coach, a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and current coach of the Washington Redskins – JGR has competed in NASCAR since 1992, winning three Cup Series championships and over 50 NASCAR races, including two Brickyard 400s and the 1993 Daytona 500.

Drive for Diversity®

Drive for Diversity® is an ethnic and gender minority driver and crew member development program created and managed by Access Marketing & Communications, a Charlotte-based multicultural marketing firm founded in 2003 by The Radiate Group and Calhoun Enterprises. In 2006, the program will support eight drivers in the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series and 12 crew members in the NASCAR Busch Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Drive for Diversity® is an initial step in a long-term solution to diversify NASCAR’s participant and audience base. For more information, please visit www.drivefordiversity.com.
