NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series at Langley Speedway
Law Enforcement Appreciation Night Update:
With inclement weather predicted to make an appearance in the area later in the day, Langley Speedway made an early call to pull the plug on Saturday evening’s NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series program.
Law Enforcement Appreciation Night will be rescheduled as soon as the track can arrange a suitable makeup date with the local police departments that were to have participated in Saturday’s activities.

Five feature events, topped by a 100-lapper for the Crossroads Fuel Service/Sunoco Dealers Late Models, are planned for next Saturday, July 29, as Langley Speedway resumes its 2006 campaign with USG Night at the Races.
In addition to the big Late Model race, the July 29 lineup includes: Super 8 Motels/Dunkum’s Machine Shop Grand Stocks (40 laps); Verizon Super Trucks (25 laps); E-Z Auto Rental UCARs (25 laps); and, the Pro 6 Series (25 laps).
Also, the Virginia Chevy Lovers will present a vehicle display and take part in a parade lap.
Gates open at 12 noon and practice gets under way at 1:30 p.m. Qualifying starts at 4. Pre-race festivities, highlighted by the Pro 6 race, begin at 6:30. The rest of the evening’s feature card follows at 7.
Tickets are $10 for adults ($8 for active-duty or retired military members with ID) and $5 for children, 6-12. “Little Race Fans” (under 6) are admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Also, military members in uniform are admitted free. “Family Packs,” which include two adult and two children’s tickets, are $25 — a savings of $5. Skybox seats are $30 each. There is no charge for parking.

Langley Speedway’s weekly “test and tune” session is scheduled for Thursday, July 27. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and practice runs from 5 ‘til dark. Pit admission is $10 with a valid NASCAR, INEX or Langley Speedway license and $20 without a current competition license. There is no charge to watch practice rounds from the grandstands.

Langley Speedway’s “Extreme Sports Wednesday” program, recently featured during sportscasts on WAVY-TV (the local NBC affiliate) and WVBT-TV (its sister station and the local Fox affiliate), continues on July 26.
The lineup features “1-on-1 Drags,” “Time Attacks” (solo runs against the clock) and a “Burnout Competition.”
Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the fun gets under way at 7. Pit admission is $15 and general admission grandstand tickets are $8. Kids under 6 are admitted free to the grandstand when accompanied by an adult.

A longtime member of the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series, Langley Speedway is a .395-mile, slightly-banked oval. The track is located at 11 Dale Lemonds Dr., off North Armistead Ave., in Hampton, Va.
