Update: Allstate Night set for July 15 Wednesday, July 12, 2006

(July 12)

New points leader Mark Wertz and contenders Danny and Greg Edwards resume the Late Model title chase this Saturday, July 15, when Langley Speedway plays host to Allstate Night at the Races, the unofficial kickoff to the second half of the track’s 2006 NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series schedule.
Saturday’s five-race lineup includes: Crossroads Fuel Service/Sunoco Dealers Late Models (75 laps); Super 8 Motels/Dunkum’s Machine Shop Grand Stocks (40 laps); Verizon Super Trucks (25 laps); E-Z Auto Rental UCARs (25 laps); and, BBFlabradors.com Wolf Trucks (20 laps).
Gates open at 12 noon. Practice begins at 1:30 p.m. and time trials get under way at 4. Pre-race festivities start at 6:30 and the first feature event gets the green flag at 7.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children, 6-12. “Little Race Fans” (under 6) are admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Also, there is no charge for military members in uniform. “Family Packs,” which include two adult and two children’s tickets, are $25 — a savings of $5. Skybox seats are $30 each. There is no charge for parking.

Langley Speedway’s weekly “test and tune” session is scheduled for Thursday, July 13. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and practice runs from 5 ‘til dark. Pit admission is $10 with a valid NASCAR, INEX or Langley Speedway license and $20 without a current competition license. There is no charge to watch practice rounds from the grandstands.
Summaries of Thursday night practice sessions are available on the track's Web site, www.langley-speedway.com. In the menu on the homepage, click on "Results," then follow the appropriate links. Practice results are posted shortly after the end of each week's session.

• • •
Randy Prillaman will be looking for his sixth win in this week’s UCAR race. He holds a 28-point edge over Robbie Davis in the division standings.
