Update - Poor weather pushes '06 opener back to April 15

Due to inclement weather in the area and the prospects that conditions will only continue to deteriorate throughout the rest of the day, Langley Speedway has called off Saturday night’s season-opening NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series program.

With this week’s washout, the Speedway’s 2006 opener, presented by Wolftrap Motorsports, has been rescheduled for Saturday, April 15. The eight-race feature slate from April 8 will also carry over to next Saturday evening.
The April 15 lineup includes: Crossroads Fuel Service/Sunoco Dealers Late Models (75 laps); Super 8 Motels/Dunkum’s Machine Shop Grand Stocks (40 laps); NTELOS Wireless Super Streets (50 laps); B&C Seafood Modifieds (25 laps); Verizon Super Trucks (25 laps); E-Z Auto Rental UCARs (25 laps); and, Cook’s Moving Service INEX Legends (25 laps). The BBFlabradors.com Wolf Trucks will lead off the program with a 20-lap event at 6:30 p.m.
Gates open at 12 noon and practice gets under way at 1:30 p.m. Qualifying starts at 4 and pre-race activities, including the Wolf Truck race, begin at 6:30, followed by the remainder of the evening’s feature card.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children, 6-12. “Little Race Fans” (under 6) are admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Also, there is no charge for military members in uniform. “Family Packs,” including two adult and two children’s tickets, are $25 — a savings of $5. Skybox seats, a popular option, are $30 each. There is no charge for parking.

Langley Speedway will host its regular, weekly practice session on Thursday, April 13. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and practice runs from 5 ‘til dark. Pit admission is $10 with a valid NASCAR, INEX or Langley Speedway license and $20 without a current competition license. There is no charge to watch practice from the grandstands.
