Top 5 Finish in First Easter Bunny 150
Statesville NC driver Justin Crider came into the Pro All Star Series My Computer Career Easter Bunny 150 this past weekend at Hickory Motor Speedway with growing expectations. After a successful first race in the Super, finishing 7th at Southern National and a couple of good tests at Hickory, he felt like Hickory could be a place for a good run. With rain and no practice on Friday, rain and limited practice on Saturday, those expectations faded a little. With no chance to do a sticker tire run in practice, Justin qualified 12th. As the race progressed, he saved tires, raced hard when he needed to, narrowly avoided a few wrecks and steadily worked his way into the top ten by lap 125. After a caution with 4 laps to go he found himself restarting in 6th, with a shot at a top 5 in his first ever Easter Bunny 150. Getting a good restart on the outside, he made the pass and brought it home with a 5th place finish. “After our performance at Kenly we felt like we had a competitive car and I’ve got a lot of laps at Hickory, so we thought we might run good here. But once again, we kinda surprised ourselves. I think I had a shot at a top 3, if we could have gotten a little longer green flag run there at the end. My guys (with the help of Dickie Woodman) had a great setup in the car and they worked their butts off trying to keep the car where I wanted it thru the little bit of practice we got. We ended up having a power steering issue that had been plaguing us all day. We chased it trying to diagnose it and never did get it fixed. That probably hurt the car a little at the end. It got really bad there with about 30 to go. But we’ll certainly take a top 5 in our second start, said Justin. Everyone come out to cheer on Justin and his JDS Glass, Service Partners, Metal Roofing Systems / Metal Fastening Systems, Multi Electrical Services, ChaLew Performance, Betts Racing Engines, Hamke Race Cars, Tri-Star Racewear Toyota at Nashville Fairground Raceway on the 4th of May for the CARS Tour North / South SLM Challenge 100 .
