A full night of racing entertainment with 1st time feature winners and veterans in victory lane greeted race fans and teams Friday night at Wake County Speedway. History in the making as Alex Fleming from Willow Spring won his first start in a tour type modified as the touring series 602 Modified Series roared into "America's Favorite Bullring". The track champion, practiced Thursday afternoon dialing in his hotrod, set fast time,
came through the field after the invert for the feature and held off
brothers, Robbie and Zach Brewer from Winston Salem crossed under the stripe in 2nd and 3rd place.
Fleming thanked the 1X Racing team, his family and fans from victory lane. History at the bullring was made as Mason Ford from Willow Spring held off brother Stephen Ford, Willow Spring to record the 1st victory for the Mod Lite Division at the Speedway. These stars and cars, were racing on asphalt for the 1st time and put on an awesome show, Ford thanked Quality Lightning
Protection, his parents and family and fans from Capital City Chevy victory lane.
Emily Day from Garner held off brother Caleb and Zack Brown from Holly Springs to score the popular 40 lap INEX Legends National qualifier event.
Day had her DSM hotrod in victory lane after the hotly contested event, thanking family, friends and team. T.J. Dillon from Garner continues to be the man to beat in the Hocutt's 4 Cylinder division, picking up another win in the 2018 season. Chad Williams visited victory lane scoring the popular win in the Bomber division.
Keith Oliver, Raleigh roared to victory in the Capps Motorsports Modified 4 Cylinder feature.
Oliver held off Dennis "The Dominator" Capps to park his Precast Terrazzo in victory lane. Kevin Jeffreys rounded out the top 3 finishers in the feature.
Mark August the 25th down as the CARS Tour rolls into town for a special Saturday show. See the finest Late Model superstars as they tackle the bullring in a 123 lap event. See Josh Berry, Jr. Motorsports driver, Layne Riggs from Bahama, Deac and Bradley McCaskill from Raleigh, Coy Gibbs and Lee Pulliam and others battle at the bullring. The racing card also includes events for the Southern Ground Pounders Tour, the Flathead Ford Series,
Bandoleros and Bombers features to cap off the speedfest and the speedway.
