Ross Bailes and Johnny Pursley, both natives of Clover, South Carolina, a southwestern suburban community of the Charlotte Metro area, are set to dual for Carolina Clash championship. Both drivers are large machinery operators at their family businesses, both in earthworks and grading. After a win at Friendship Motor Speedway on September 10, 2016 in Elkin, NC, Ross Bailes is set to finish the season strong, but will have a serious deficit to make up in points as Johnny Pursley dominated the threee Clash races in August. Pursley carries a 59 point lead into the Fayetteville event over Bailes, after landing a solid top-three finish at Elkin, behind three-time champion Dennis Franklin, who finished second to Bailes.
Congratulations to American Racer for being the winning tire on the Ross Bailes #87 Felony Farms, AKW Electrical, Bailes Construction team car at the Friendship Motor Speedway on September 10, 2016.
Thanks to Michael Tesh and the staff of the Friendship Motor Speedway in Elkin, NC for hosting the event.
