Justin Dawson of Nathalie, Virginia edged Todd Garnett of Drakes Branch, Virginia to win Saturday night’s 15-lap Budweiser Hornets Division race at South Boston Speedway.
That race was the only race of the four races scheduled for Saturday night’s PASS Super Late Model 150 racing program that was run.
Thunderstorms that raced through the area bringing with them heavy rain, gusty winds and lightning forced South Boston Speedway officials to have to cancel the remainder of the night’s racing action.
Lynn Morris of South Hill, Virginia finished third and Kirstin Simmons of Lacrosse, Virginia finished fourth in the Hornets Division race.
There were 25 NASCAR Whelen All American Series Late Model Stock Car Division competitors on hand to compete in the night’s scheduled twin 75-lap NASCAR Late Model Stock Car Division races.
Eight PASS South Super Late Model series competitors were on hand to compete in the night’s scheduled 150 lap race, which also fell victim to the storms.
