Rougemont, NC --
Brayton Haws earned his first career CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car victory Saturday night at Orange County Speedway. The Orange Blossom 300 presented by the Grilling Store boasted some of the best Late Model Stock Car drivers in the country.
On lap 35, Haws would take the lead from pole sitter Deac McCaskill and would never relinquish his position. He fought a late race charge from Myatt Snider, the son of NASCAR broadcaster Marty in a green-white-checkered finish. The G-W-C occurred due to a late race caution for Christian PaHud, who blew a tire and hit the Turn 3 wall.
“We were fast from the beginning of the race and had to work to get by Deac a little bit,” Haws said. Haws also went on to praise his Hawk-McCall Motorsports team for their hard work.
Kyle Busch Motorsports driver Christopher Bell would take home the win in a caution reddened 150 lap Super Late Model wreck festival. The Caos would ensue on lap one of the race as Quinn Houff spun battling pole sitter Cole Timm. A large portion of the field would be tangled up in the carnage.
The race would be marred by several other cautions extending the race late into the night, but Bell would prevail. Car owner Kyle Busch was in attendance to cheer on his driver with other notable NASCAR Stars such as Jeff Burton, Honorary Grand Marshal Leonard Wood, and Joe Nemecheck to name a few.
