Peltier, the fast qualifier with a time of 15.426 seconds started eighth after the inversion to start the race but found himself in the top-three by lap 45 and in second by lap 89, before he passed Timm on the restart following the sixth of eight cautions for the race.

Pulliam sweeps twin 75-lap races

It was another good night for two-time defending NASCAR Whelen All-American National Champion Lee Pulliam on Saturday with a sweep of twin 75-lap races.

Pulliam, of Semora, North Carolina, passed four-time national champion and Ruckersville, Virginia native Philip Morris on lap 26 of the first race and finished with 2.180-second win over Morris, with South Boston’s Bruce Anderson, a winner in the last Late Model race at  South Boston, rallying to a third-place finish after starting 10th.

Matt Bowling of Ridgeway, Virginia, was fourth, and Josh Oakley of Rougemont, North Carolina, rounded out the top-five finishers in race one.

Pulliam started in seventh-place in the second 75-lap race after an inversion, was in fourth-place by lap 21 and third-place by lap 25 after passing Semora, North Carolina driver Justin Johnson.
