Timm wins PASS SLM 150 at South Boston Speedway

South Boston, Va…Fifteen-year-old Cole Timm of Mooresville, North Carolina wrestled the lead from veteran Preston Peltier of Concord, North Carolina with one lap to go and held off Peltier to win Saturday night’s PASS Super Late Model 150 at South Boston Speedway.

The win was Timm’s first career victory on the PASS (Pro All Stars Series) circuit.

Timm took the lead from 13-year-old Harrison Burton, the son of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Jeff Burton, on lap 114 following the race’s first caution, and was in front when the race’s second and final caution came out on lap 146 due to a spin by Tyler Church in the fourth turn.

Peltier grabbed the lead from Timm on the ensuing double-file restart, but Timm rallied back, forged ahead of Peltier on the outside and edged Peltier by .205-second at the finish.

Trevor Noles of Charlotte, North Carolina finished third with Burton finishing fourth and Jared Fryar of Trinity, North Carolina rounding out the top five finishers.

Tate Fogleman of Durham, North Carolina, Church, of Hickory, North Carolina, Trey Jarrell of Kannapolis, North Carolina, Jared Irvan of Midland, North Carolina and Brandon Setzer of Newton, N.C. completed the top 10 finishers.

There were four lead changes among four drivers, with Burton leading 65 laps, the most of any driver. Timm led twice for a total of 35 laps.

Timm averaged 73.698 mph in the 150-lap race that took 48 minutes and 51 seconds to complete.

Moss, Eversole split Limited Sportsman twinbill

Daniel Moss of Danville, Virginia and J.D. Eversole of Richmond, Virginia split wins in Saturday night’s twin 25-lap Limited Sportsman Division races.

Moss’ win in the first race was his second of the season. Eversole’s win in the nightcap was his first win of the season.

Moss started on the pole in the first race, briefly lost the lead to defending division champion Danny Willis Jr. of Cluster Springs, Virginia, regained the lead from Willis on the fifth lap, and drove to a .232-second win over Willis in the caution-free race.

Tommy Peregoy of Clarksville, Virginia, Trey Crews of Halifax, Virginia and Eversole rounded out the top five finishers in the first race.

In the nightcap, which had an inverted start among the top finishers of the first race, Eversole grabbed the lead from pole starter Daryl Carver of Prospect Hill, North Carolina and fended off a trio of challengers following the race’s only caution period on lap 19 to score his first win of the season.

Willis finished second, with Peregoy, Crews, and Billy Myers of Hurt, Virginia rounding out the top five finishers.

Autry wins Pure Stock Division race

Greg Autry of South Boston, Virginia took the lead from Trey Crews of Halifax, Virginia with seven laps to go and edged Crews by .488-second to win the 20-lap race for the Budweiser Pure Stock Division.

The win was Autry’s fourth of the season at South Boston Speedway.

Bruce Mayo of Halifax, Virginia, Harrison Walker of Buffalo Junction, Virginia and Austin Thaxton of South Boston, Virginia rounded out the top five finishers.

Millington wins Legends Cars race

Ryan Millington of Statesville, North Carolina started on the pole and scored a flag-to-flag win in the caution-free 25-lap Legends race.

Jake Spillers of Holly Springs, North Carolina and Chris Lilly of Grottoes, Virginia rounded out the top three finishers in the race.
