Danville Toyota NASCAR Whelen Late Model Twin 100 slated Saturday afternoon at SoBo

Ready or not, it’s time to go racing at America’s Hometown Track.
South Boston Speedway will crank up the 2014 season this weekend with the running of the Danville Toyota NASCAR Whelen Late Model Twin 100 racing program. The season-opener will have a special starting time of 2 p.m.
“We are eager to get another exciting season of racing action underway,” South Boston Speedway General Manager Cathy Rice said. “The competitors are ready to go. The fans are eager to start, and we are looking forward to another banner year.”
The featured attractions of the Danville Toyota NASCAR Whelen Late Model Twin 100 racing program will be a pair of 100-lap events on the historic four-tenths mile asphalt oval for the NASCAR Whelen All American Late Model Stock Car Division.
The afternoon of racing will also be highlighted by races for the Limited Sportsman Division and the Budweiser Pure Stock Division.
Pit gates will open on March 15 at 9 a.m. and practice for all divisions will beheld from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. A mandatory meeting for drivers will be held at 11:45 p.m. and qualifying time trials will roll off at 12:30 p.m. Grandstand gates will open for the first event of the campaign at noon.
Admission will be $10 for adults. Children, ages six and under, will be admitted free with a paid adult. Season tickets, priced at only $150, currently remain on sale and can be purchased at the speedway office.
