(6/18) The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North super late models will make the trek to Vallee-Jonction's Autodrome Chaudiere for their only Quebec appearance of the season on Saturday June 23 for the Habitations Dany Legace 150, and there's a new man on top of the point standings as the fastest full fender race cars in the USA and Canada travel north of the border.
Travis Benjamin is the new man atop the point standings and he's having the kind of season that Champions are made of. Benjamin has three top five finishes in the tours' first four events. He's finished second twice, both times to defending PASS North Champ and defending Autodrome Chaudiere race winner Johnny Clark. Benjamin leads Clark by two points (852-850) heading into the weekend, and DJ Shaw (847), Cassius Clark (846) and Joey Doiron (838) are all right behind the top pair.
Clark has turned his season around after a rough start at the Beech Ridge season opener. He's won two of the season's four events and climbed back into the point battle as he seeks a record seventh Pro All Stars Series title.
All of the championship challengers have filed early entries for the event including Benjamin, Johnny Clark, Shaw,Cassius Clark, Doiron, Lonnie Sommerville, Kyle DeSouza, Derek Ramstrom, John Donahue and Ben Rowe. Native sons Alexander Gingras, Martin LaTulippe and Kevin Roberge have filed entries, and New Hampshire’s Andy Shaw will team with Roberge in a second Dany Legacy-owned entry. Matt Matheson and Matt Harris will travel to Quebec from their native New Brunswick.
Fast cars and short track stars are on the menu this Saturday at 6:00 PM when the Pro All Stars take their racing road show to Autodrome Chaudiere .
