Lee Pulliam won here at South Boston Speedway a week ago in his return to NASCAR racing.

The Semora, N.C. resident followed it up with a win here Saturday night, scoring his second straight win of the season in the CenturyLink Presents BoJangles Late Model 150 racing program here at South Boston Speedway.

With the win Pulliam became the first repeat winner of the season in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model Stock Car Division at South Boston Speedway.

Pulliam pulled away in the last 40 laps of the race following the last of the race’s five caution periods and edged track points leader Matt Bowling of Ridgeway, Va. by 2.327 seconds to win the 150-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model Stock car Division race.

Bowling and former South Boston Speedway and NASCAR Whelen All-American Series National Champion Peyton Sellers of Danville, Va. waged a tight battle for the runner-up spot with Bowling grabbing the spot with five laps to go.

C.E. Falk III of Virginia Beach, Va. battled Pulliam hard for the win for the first 130 laps, but faded to a fourth-place finish. Falk led twice in the race for a total of 15 laps. South Boston, Va. resident Bruce Anderson finished fifth after rallying from his eighth-place starting spot.

Brian Pembelton of Amelia, Va., Austin Thaxton of South Boston, Va., Mike Darne of Mooresville, N.C., Dennis Holdren of Roanoke, Va. and Hunter Devers of King George, Va. rounded out the top ten finishers.

Pulliam, who led the race three times for a total of 135 laps, averaged 64.588 mph in the race that took 55 minutes and 44 seconds to complete.

Willis Makes It Three In A Row In The Limited Sportsman Division

Danny Willis Jr. of Cluster Springs, Va. made it three wins in a row Saturday night, winning the 50-lap race for the Limited Sportsman Division.

Willis started on the pole and led the entire race, pulling away from his challengers in a 14-lap green-flag sprint to the finish following the race’s only caution period. His margin of victory over runner-up Bobby McCarty of Summerfield, N.C. was 2.874 seconds, or almost a quarter of a lap.

Blake Stallings of Danville, Va., Mike Jones of South Boston, Va. and Charles Barnes of Chase City, Va. rounded out the top five finishers.

Willis averaged 66.540 mph in the race that took 18 minutes and two seconds to complete.

Allred, Daniel Crews Split Wins In Pure Stock Division Twinbill

Division points leader Joe Allred III of Scottsburg, Va. and Daniel Crews of Long Island, Va. split wins in Saturday night’s pair of 30-lap races for the Budweiser Pure Stock Division.

Allred, who had won three races in a row entering Saturday night’s twinbill, won the first race of the night, rallying from his ninth-place starting spot to take the lead on the seventh lap. Once in front, he never relinquished the lead, driving away to a 1.456-second win over Trey Crews of Halifax, Va. in a caution-free race.

Stuart Crews of Long Island, Va., Randy Hupp of Halifax, Va. and Eric Crews of Long Island, Va. rounded out the top-five finishers.

In the nightcap, Daniel Crews took over the car normally driven by Nathan Crews after Nathan Crews became ill and was unable to compete and started at the back of the pack in 15th place.

Daniel Crews rallied from his start at the rear of the field, passed Trey Crews in the second turn on the final lap and beat his challenger to the finish line by .76-second to earn his first career Pure Stock Division win.

Trey Crews, Hupp, Stuart Crews and Eric Crews rounded out the top five finishers in the race that saw the lead swap hands three times among four drivers.

Ricketts Wins Legendary Ford Flatheads Race

Garland Ricketts of South Boston, Va. won the 10-lap race for the regional touring Legendary Ford Flatheads Racing Association. It was his third straight win in the series.

Carlton Pugh of Gretna. Va. was the top-finisher in the Sportsman Division.
