Richmond, Va. --
Townsend-Oliver Racing Performance regretfully announces the resignation of Rick Townsend from the technical advisor/consultant position at Townsend-Oliver Racing Performance, effective immediately. In the fall of 2009 I contacted Rick Townsend with the vision of a dream to resurrect the Townsend chassis name. With the support of many, my wife and I secured the means necessary to get Townsend-Oliver Racing Performance up and running in January of 2010. Since its inception to November 2011 TORP has cumulated 56 wins, including the prestigious Virginia Is For Racing Lovers 300 at Martinsville Speedway, 5 track championships and the 2010 NASCAR Whelen All American Series Rookie Of The Year.
Townsend-Oliver Racing Performance may be experiencing some change, but the legacy of Townsend race cars will go on. We will continue building and servicing cars with the same standard and quality that Townsend race cars instilled and shared with so many.
