The Sixth Annual "Day of Destruction"
at Langley Speedway - Hampton, VA
Preview: 2011 campaign to end with yearly crashfest
Thursday, October 27, 2011

HAMPTON, Va. (Oct. 27) With the stress and strain of a long NASCAR points campaign now in the rearview mirror, Langley Speedway lets loose this Saturday, Nov. 5, as the track closes out its 2011 racing schedule with the Sixth Annual "Day of Destruction" always one of the most popular dates on the calendar.
Saturday's lineup includes: a 50-lap Enduro Race, a Reverse Race, a Flag Pole Race, a Bag Race, a Train Race, an Appliance Race, a Tug of War competition, a Burnout contest and two demolition derbies one for domestic cars and one for imports. A grand total of $5,000 in posted awards will be on the line in the 10 events.
Front gates and pit gates open at 11 a.m. The afternoon's first feature tilt, the Reverse Race, goes green at 1 p.m.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children, 6-12. Military personnel (active-duty or retired) and seniors (60+) receive a $2 discount off the regular adult ticket price. Little Race Fans (under 6) are admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Family Packs, which include two adult and two kids tickets, are $25 a savings of $5. Advance tickets may be purchased in the Speedway office during normal business hours.
In case of inclement weather on Saturday, the Speedway has established Sunday, Oct. 30, as a rain date. The same race day schedule would be in effect on Sunday.

The U.S. Marine Corps 4th Supply Battalion will return to Langley this Saturday to accept donations for the Toys For Tots drive. Fans and competitors are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy and brighten the holidays for needy children.
