Carolina Collector Auto Fest Returns To Fairgrounds
Mar 9, 2011 - updated Mar 9th, 2011 8:26am
Web posted by Phillipwalkerauctons.com

Raleigh, NC --

The NC State Fairgrounds comes to life on March 11th through the 13th for the 24th annual Spring Carolina Collector Auto Fest. The CCAF was started in 1988 by the late A. Earl Smith and operated later under the guidance of his son Staley. Staley Smith sold the event to Terry King in 2007. The popular car show and swap meet is now under the ownership of Phillip Walker. Randy Myers is the show manager.

The CCAF is has over 150,000 square feet of floor space in the Jim Graham and EXPO buildings housing over 150 vendors and car corral exhibitors. Those vendors feature everything under the sun for classic cars and hot rods along with many unusual items for sale. Photos, posters, die-cast cars and collectibles for the car and truck enthusiasts fill the floors and walls of the exhibit buildings. Two car shows featuring some of the finest classics from the Carolinas and Virginia fill the Dorton Arena and the grounds surrounding the futuristic building. Saturday’s car show features cars built from 1900 through 1973 and the Sunday car show is an “open” show with every year, make and model eligible. Over 100 awards will be presented to the top cars, trucks and motorcycles.

Don’t miss the chance to see the classics and future classics at the Carolina Collector Auto Fest on March 11 through 13 at the NC State Fairgrounds in Raleigh. Show hours are from 10:00 AM till 6:00 PM on Friday which is also Senior and Military Day with $5.00 admission for those groups. Event hours on Saturday are from 8:00 AM till 6:00 PM and on Sunday from 8:00 AM till 3:00 PM. General admission is only $10.00 for adults and kids 10 and under are free.
