CHAMPIONS FOR CHARITIES DRIVER SPOTLIGHT: KEITH ROCCO
Jan 23, 2011 - updated Jan 23rd, 2011 11:18am
Web posted by

--

(Stafford Springs, CT)---As the excitement builds for the June 28th CARQUEST Extreme Tuesday Champions for Charities event, Stafford Speedway has been busy coordinating charities and the drivers that will represent them. The field for the CARQUEST Champions for Charities race is impressive, as it represents 42 championships among 12 drivers and 5 different open wheel
divisions.

Keith Rocco, the 2010 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series National Champion, as well as the 2010 Stafford SK Modified® Champion, has teamed up with the Connecticut Chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation in conjunction with the Wishes on Wheels Convoy for this unique event. The Connecticut Chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation / Wishes on Wheels Convoy grants wishes of children with life threatening medical conditions. Since 1986, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Connecticut has granted the wishes of more than 1,900 children.

"I am excited to get a chance to help a charity such as Make-A-Wish," said Rocco. "To get a chance to race and raise money for such a great cause is something I couldn't pass up."
Rocco will bring his talents to the CARQUEST Champions for Charities event on June 28th as part of the CARQUEST Extreme Tuesday event that will showcase the ISMA Supermodified, NEMA Midget, and Pro-4 Modified divisions.

As one of the special guests in the CARQUEST Champions For Charities event, Rocco will pilot a Wild Thing Senior Outlaw go-kart against some of the most talented open wheel drivers in New England.

Fans are encouraged to get involved in the event by donating to their favorite driver or favorite charity. Starting positions for the qualifying
races will be set by the amount of funds raised and the top two fundraisers will be on the pole of each qualifying race.

"My goal is to raise $8,500 for Make-A-Wish" said Rocco. "That is the amount needed to grant one wish and I'm hoping that it will also get me a
good starting spot in the race."

2010 was a big year for Rocco; he won 10 times at Stafford, clinched his second SK Modified® track championship, and was the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series National Champion. Though Keith is one of the younger members of the CARQUEST Champions for Charities field, he will surely be one to reckon with come race day.

To make a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation/Wishes on Wheels and for
more information on the event please refer to the CARQUEST Champions for Charities donation page located at www.staffordspeedway.com. Stay tuned to www.staffordspeedway.com for more driver spotlights and exciting information regarding the CARQUEST Champions for Charities event.

CARQUEST Extreme Tuesday will take place on June 28, 2011 and will also feature the ISMA Super Modifieds, NEMA Midgets, and Pro-4 Modifieds.
Tickets for CARQUEST Extreme Tuesday are on sale now at the Speedway Box Office and are priced at $30.00 for adult general admission tickets, $5.00
for children ages 6-14, and children ages 5 and under are admitted free of charge when accompanied by an adult. Reserved seating is priced at $32.00 for all ages. As always, Stafford Motor Speedway offers free parking with
overnight parking available.
