FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: July 21, 2010
The rain, which canceled the OCS 255, has increased the anticipation for The OCS Thriller 265 Saturday, July 31, here at Orange County Speedway.
Fans will be presented with yet another heart-pounding night of intense side-by-side racing. The night will be filled with a 100 lap Late Model race, a 50 lap Limited Sportsman race, and a 35 lap Grand Stock dash. There will also be a special appearance by the Southern Ground Pounders and the Street Stock division. Quite an entertaining show is to be expected.
In the Late Model Division, the buzz over the Terry Dease and Joey Mahanes rivalry has continued. In fact, Dease told the Roxboro Courier Times, “that Joey Mahanes had messed with the wrong person.” In response to that statement, Joey Mahanes’s Car owner, Paul Fletcher, stated; "Neither of us need to waste money, but if that is what it takes, so be it. Joey understands what it takes to race, as he works on his own car. Joey cannot be bullied; he knows how to handle himself. I am confident of that and I will put my name on it." While both drivers are enthusiastic about a rematch, the Speedway is confident that the racing intensity will be exciting, but will display a more reserved, gentlemanly tone.
Final practice for the OCS Thriller 265 is anticipated to start at 2:30 p.m., with qualifying at 5:15 p.m., and racing starting at 7 p.m.
The front ticket gates will open at 5:30 p.m., but fans are welcome to come early for final practice and qualifying by entering through the front ticket office.
General admission tickets are $10. Tickets for Senior citizens 65 and older are only $5. Fans with a valid military, university, fire department, law enforcement or Mariah Parham identification, can also gain admission for only $5. Kids 10 and under are FREE.
There are also a limited amount of air conditioned VIP seats located in the tower of turns three and four. They are available for an amazing price of only $20 per seat.
