FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Firecracker 262 will be hosted by Orange County Speedway Saturday, July 3, in celebration of the Fourth of July weekend. The first 50 fans through the gate will receive door prizes, so be sure to come out early and celebrate with us. Fans are welcome to come see practice and qualifying, just come to the main office ticket booth.
After last weekend’s PASS Series race, which ended in a classic rough and rugged green-white-checker finish, many fans are left anticipating yet another thrilling night of three-groove racing here at OCS.
To add even more excitement to the mix, a $100 bounty has been placed on OCS’s very own Grand Stock points leader, Keith Edwards. As long as Edwards finishes the race and the winner is not disqualified, first place will win the bounty. If Edwards wins the race, he will be the one receiving the $100. A special thanks goes out to the anonymous donor who put up the bounty.
The night’s schedule will consist of Late Model Stocks, Limited Sportsman, Grand Stocks, Pure Stocks, Bandoleros and Modifieds. The Halifax County Junior ROTC will present the colors and at the end of the race there will be a special patriotic fireworks exhibition.
Fans will be reminded to hold onto their ticket stubs during the race for a special drawing, which will be held during the race.
Final practice is scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, with Qualifying at 5:15 p.m., and racing starting at 7p.m.
As a special event race, tickets will be $15 for adults, $10 for students 11 to 17, while kids 10 and under are free. All senior citizens (65 plus), military personnel, area university employees and students are $10 with a valid ID as well.
A limited amount of air conditioned VIP seats located in the tower of turns 3 and 4 are also available for an amazing price of $20 per seat.
